Getting Started
How do I create an account?
Simply download MemoryVerse from the App Store or Google Play, open the app, and tap "Sign Up." Enter your email address, create a password, and choose a display name. You'll be ready to start memorizing verses immediately!
Is MemoryVerse free?
Yes! MemoryVerse is currently completely free to use. All features including daily verses, AI context, practice sessions, and gamification are available at no cost.
What Bible translations are available?
MemoryVerse includes 7 public domain Bible translations:
- KJV (King James Version)
- ASV (American Standard Version)
- BBE (Bible in Basic English)
- DBY (Darby English Bible)
- WBT (Webster's Bible)
- WEB (World English Bible)
- YLT (Young's Literal Translation)
Using the App
How does the daily verse work?
Every day, all MemoryVerse users receive the same daily verse. This creates a shared experience and allows the community to study and memorize together. Check back each day for a new verse!
What is the XP and leveling system?
As you practice verses, you earn XP (experience points) based on your accuracy:
- 100% accuracy: 20 XP
- 80-99% accuracy: 15 XP
- 60-79% accuracy: 10 XP
- Below 60%: 5 XP
Your level is calculated as: √(totalXP/100) + 1. The more you practice, the higher your level!
How do streaks work?
Your streak counts consecutive days you've practiced verses in MemoryVerse. Practice at least once each day to maintain your streak. We'll send you reminders to help you stay on track!
What are the practice modes?
MemoryVerse offers several ways to engage with Scripture:
- Read: Swipeable flashcards with flip animations
- Understand: AI-generated context and explanations
- Recall: Fill-in-the-blank practice with voice or text input
- Pray: Voice recording for prayer practice
How does voice input work?
In Recall mode, you can speak your answers instead of typing. The app uses speech recognition to check your accuracy. Make sure to grant microphone permissions when prompted. If voice input doesn't work, you can always fall back to text input.
Account & Privacy
How do I change my profile information?
Tap the Profile tab, then tap the "Edit Profile" button. You can change your display name, bio, and avatar emoji.
Is my data secure?
Yes! We take security seriously. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Passwords are securely hashed, and we implement row-level security policies to protect your information. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
Can I opt out of the leaderboard?
Your display name, XP, level, and streak appear on the public leaderboard. Currently, the only way to remove yourself from the leaderboard is to delete your account. We're working on adding a privacy setting for this.
Troubleshooting
The app is crashing or freezing
Try these steps:
- Force close the app and restart it
- Check for app updates in the App Store or Google Play
- Restart your device
- Uninstall and reinstall the app (your data is saved in the cloud)
- Contact support if the problem persists
I'm not receiving notifications
Check these settings:
- Ensure notifications are enabled in app settings
- Check your device settings: Settings → Notifications → MemoryVerse
- Make sure "Do Not Disturb" is not enabled
- Try logging out and logging back in
My streak reset but I practiced yesterday
Streaks are based on UTC time zones. Make sure you practice within the same calendar day according to your timezone. If you believe this is an error, contact support with the dates you practiced.
Voice input isn't working
Make sure you've granted microphone permissions to MemoryVerse. Check your device settings: Settings → Privacy → Microphone → MemoryVerse. Also ensure you're in a quiet environment and speaking clearly.
I found a bug or error in a verse
